I was just going through the SEO updates on the weekend & just came across one word which insist me to explore in more detail and that word is “Zeitgeist”. Yes, me too confused by reading the word & I decided to explore more details about it.

What is Google’s Zeitgeist ?

Google’s Zeitgeist defines the spirit of the times. As we all know, Millions of people across the globe do search on Google for hundreds of queries. Google used to store all this data & now Google is sharing this data so that, we can get some insights from the current search trend going on across the globe.

Google has developed few tools that give insights into global, regional, past and present search trends. These tools gives flexibility to research, explore, and learn from these data. SEO, Webmasters and even Business owner can use it to gain the understanding of search patterns & use them for their benefits.

Google Trends:
Enter up to five search terms to see relative popularity over time. It will give you the results based on time frame, regions, cities, languages and relative keywords.

Trends for Websites
Type a website address to see visitors by region and related sites visited. It gives traffic & visitor bifurcation based on Region, cities, related sites, and other search terms used.

Search Insights
Create your own lists of most popular and fastest rising queries for different geographic regions over time and by topic. Data is bifurcated by Top Search queries for that term, Region, Cities and related search terms.

Hot Trends
The top 100 fastest-rising search queries in USA. It gives daily update and very frequently updated through out the day.

I am thinking about the application & the way to use these tools offered by the google for my website. Few things which clicked in my mind are,

• To Analyze the Keyword Trends which we targeted for the website
• To Analyze the search volume of the keyword
• To get insights about the other related websites & keywords that can help me to drive more traffic

Google Health : Share Your Medical Records Online

Hey Friends, I was just going through the updates about various search engine & there is news going on about the Google update. No, don’t worry, its not any major search algorithm update but its something for better user experience. Many of you are aware of the Google Health. Google Health offers you to,

• Organize your health information all in one place
• Gather your medical records from doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies
• Keep your doctors up-to-date about your health
• Be more informed about important health issues

Now, In addition to this service, Google Health has introduced two new functionality to help users. These facilities of Google help will enable users to share their medical information with friends, family members and medical staff.

The very first functionality is called as “Share This Profile”. It is an email-based tool that enables you to give online access of your Google Health profile to some one else.

The second functionality is “offline sharing“. It’s a print feature that creates a wallet-size hard copy of your profile that shows your blood group, medications you have taken, treatment conditions, and treatments given to you.

Google Health is an online functionality, Privacy and security are major concerns for google. In response of these concerns for users, Google says that, it has taken care of the same.

Following are few steps Google will took to ensure security concerns,

• The link will expire after 30 days.
• You can stop sharing your profile any time.
• The access link will only work in connection with the email address you send it to.
• The recipient can only view your health profile, can not modify it.
• The details of your profile access will be visible to you.

Google is now expanding its functioning areas day by day, earlier Google was known as Search Engine but today, it is much more than that. Google is growing day by day, it’s really interestign to know that, there are so many things which are yet to be explored. Let’s see What more Google had for us in the near future.
